Dave Schutz
(Webmaster)
By Carl Glass
How many of
you take time out from your busy schedule to contemplate and reflect
over people who have so profoundly made an impact in your life?
I am a firm believer in destiny, and there are
events, circumstances, and people who not only shape us as individuals,
but also help point down that path to get us where we need to be. In
retrospect over the past four years, Dave Schutz has been that
kind of individual for me.
The
Adventures of Superman message board was a vital information highway
for George Reeves, with great dialogue, and the exchange of
ideas. Most importantly, it was been the center of forming great quality
relationships between its board members. What had started out as a
hobby for Dave evolved into life changing experiences
for so many.
Dave Schutz was born on October 3, 1946 in
Minneapolis Minnesota. He has worked in the commercial heating and air
conditioning field for 37 years for a company called, “Mammoth Inc.”
Dave say’s, “We build the big stuff.” “We built the major air
conditioning system for the “Mall of America” and although
the building to replace the “Twin Towers” in New York has
just been finalized, we started building their air conditioning system
about a year ago.”
Dave has been married twice and has five
children, four boys and a girl, and has nine grand-children.
Dave
started building web pages in 1995 by picking his favorite TV shows to
base them on. "My main pages were the Amos ‘n Andy Show
and The Adventures of Superman. Due to a lack of time on my part
and the fact that there are many great Superman pages on the
internet, my page has become for all practical purposes, a link to my
message board.”
In my opinion, The Adventures of Superman
board stood second to none. It was a place so many of us called Home
for many years.
It facilitated the life and memory of George Reeves.
It is with honor and distinction that we proudly
welcome the induction of Dave Schutz into the George Reeves Hall of
Fame.
